Vinayak and I met in July 2020, shortly after moving to Dallas for medicine residency. Dallas being a notoriously unwalkable city, with an even more notoriously poor public transport system, I planned to get a car before residency, but had not anticipated the pandemic that would turn our lives upside down. As a result, I arrived in Dallas without a car - or any idea of how to drive one. When Vinayak learned of my predicament, he offered to drive me to the hospital in the mornings and take me home in the evenings. During those many journeys to and from the hospital, we developed a close friendship. After I learned to drive and bought my own car, we continued to spend time together both in and out of the hospital, and our friendship evolved into love. We looked after each other through the ups and downs of residency. We explored the world together, and found that we complemented one another in perfect and unexpected ways. And sometime during the past three and a half years, we realised we wanted to spend our lives together.
Thank you for being a part of our lives, and our special day.
